You can read the history of this production here and learn why this is such a special project. We also want to give a great big thanks to George Broderick, Jr. who really came through and helped bring this first novel by Ed to life visually. Charity Event Update (12/04)

Epilogue Pic
The charity event at Mid-Ohio-Con 2005 was a rousing success! George distributed 13 copies of JILL CHILL and the BARON of GLACIER MOUNTAIN , netting $160 for diabetes research. Thanks to one and all for your help in fighting this debilitating and often fatal disease.

CHARITY GIVING GETS THE ULTIMATE SNOW DAY AT MID-OHIO-CON (10/04)

Comic book writer and artist, George Broderick, Jr. will once again be donating his time and talents to help those less fortunate at this year’s MID-OHIO-CON… and he’s brought along some “cool” Christmas friends to help share the joy of holiday giving. When you stop by his table and make a donation of $10.00 or more to the CHARITY JAR, you not only get to help fund the work of the American Diabetes Association, you get a copy of Ed McCray’s JILL CHILL AND THE BARON OF GLACIER MOUNTAIN, signed by the book’s illustrator, George Broderick, Jr.

Jill Chill Reprint Cover"Christmas and charity go hand in hand!” stated Broderick, “and I've helped raise money for Diabetes education & research for the past several years at Mid-Ohio-Con and am pleased to be doing so again. Roger Price and his crew always put on a great, family-friendly show! They ROCK!"

”My collaborator and friend, Chris Yambar, and myself, started this tradition several years ago by offering a signed comic in exchange for a charitable donation,” continues Broderick, “it's the perfect kick-off to the Christmas season, the season of giving! We have so much fun doing it, too, that fellow creator Ed McCray wanted to get in on the act and offered up his illustrated prose novel at a 50% discount from the suggested retail price as this year’s ‘reward’ for doing a good turn."

Jill Chill and the Baron of Glacier Mountain, now entering its third printing, is a Christmas themed novel that reminds people of the very best holiday tales from their youth and is reminiscent of some of the better holiday TV specials produced by Rankin/Bass and others. Weighing in at a whopping 220 pages, with lavish full-page illustrations and Illuminated manuscripts accompanying each chapter, and originally retailing for $20.00, Jill Chill tells the epic adventure of the female counterpart to the mythic Jack Frost and her struggles to uncover the secrets of her past, while saving Christmas from the evil clutches of Baron Polar Von Iceberg.

“Ten bucks for a twenty dollar book AND a chance to help find a cure for diabetes? You can’t beat that with an icicle,” exclaims Broderick.
